About Us
What's the story?
As a touring musician for 17 years, Cody began connecting with the communities he visited through their coffee shops and cocktail bars. During his travels through Europe & South America, he noticed the rich community hubs that these public spaces provided, and how that point of connection was lacking in his experience of modern American culture.
So, he sought to create the gathering place that he was homesick for—a space that brings people together using the time-tested ingredients of coffee, cocktails, and music—and Americano Lounge was born.
From his initial inspiration, all the way up to today, Americano has been a labor of love and a project of service. Our goal has never been to set the trends, but instead to listen to our community and meet them where they’re at with the highest quality products, from espresso to hot chocolate to negronis. We start with the time-trusted classics that have won over communities for decades, and combine them with the innovative spirit of jazz to create new riffs that keep us growing, learning, and evolving.
At its core, Americano is a place for people to gather. As Miles Davis famously said, “There are no wrong notes in jazz.” Everyone belongs here, and there’s something for everyone. We hope you’ll join us on the journey.
Why WeHo?
Wedgewood-Houston (or WeHo) has been called a lot of things: revitalized, trendy, up and coming, a work in progress – but one thing it’s never been called is dull. We're proud of being one of the first businesses to open in Houston Station and helping forge this cadre of cool bars, restaurants, art galleries, music venues, and coffee shops. All manner of creative souls have worked to put WeHo on the map, and we hope you'll visit our community.
The Team
Cody
Founder/OwnerAs a signed musician who spent 345 days a year on the road for over a decade, Cody Pellerin visited coffee shops and bars in every city of the United States, as well as across Canada, Europe, Australia, and the Latin world. His personal search for exceptional, classic, European coffee and cocktails culminated with the conceptualization of Americano Lounge.
Shea is originally from Georgia but has lived in Nashville since 2018. She made the traditional career move from English major to barista after leaving her corporate marketing job in 2021. While Americano was only intended to be a quick break from girlbossing, Shea fell in love with the people who make up our community—both the people she has the privilege of working with every day, and the regulars who make Americano a part of their daily lives—and comes to work every day excited to continue to investing in that culture.

General ManagerBee
Shift LeadBee was born and raised in Old Hickory Tennessee, and began working in the coffee industry in 2019 while getting her undergraduate degree in Behavioral Science. While Slingin ‘Spro intended to be something to pay the bills while finishing out undergrad and starting grad school, it quickly became much more than that. Baristaing, Bartending, and Baking at Americano since 2021 has become an avenue for personal expression, and connection with the community that Americano fosters.
Jamie was born to raise hell in Columbia, Tennessee. She is an animal lovin’, horror movie watchin’, sick picture takin’ southern lady. She picked up bartending after working as a vet tech for almost 10 years. Lucky for Cody she found her home at Americano Lounge in 2022, and has been dedicating her creative skills to helping Americano grow ever since. In her spare time you can find her lifting heavy things while listening to metal, bone hunting on back roads, reading old sci fi novels, hiking, and spending time with her badass family. Ask about her first tattoo if you want to hear a cool story.

Ryan
Bar ManagerRyan is a Nashville native that has been working in the service for over a decade. He came to Americano recently this spring for a more communal neighborhood experience after working in the downtown Nashville boutique hotel industry for the last half decade. He has enjoyed the welcome the Wedgewood-Houston community has given him and looks forward to extending that sense of community to his own project one day.
Riley got her start in the industry right after college when she worked for a local coffee shop in the heart of eastern Kentucky. She’s worked in the realm of eco-tourism, latte artistry, photography and painting since. She found herself moving to music city two years ago but joined the americano team in October 2023. When she’s not making great cocktails Riley enjoys taking photos, reading, traveling, discovering new music to fall in love with, and making conversation with new friends.

BartenderSteph
BaristaSteph, a former journalist, made the move to Nashville after several years in the news industry. Drawn to Americano Lounge by its commitment to inclusivity and work-life balance, Steph has been enjoying her time as a barista. She loves building connections with the regulars—especially the four legged ones. Her favorite sweet treat at Americano is an espresso paired with one (or two) of Bee’s seasonal cookies. When not at work, Steph enjoys spending time on ceramics and writing.
